The history of Stokke goes back to 1932 when the company was founded on the Northwest cost of Norway. Stokke has always focused on design and function, and was one of the first Norwegian furniture producers to use professional designers. Form and function have been key success factors for the company and important for its growth.

In 1972 the Tripp Trapp chair designed by Peter Opsvik was launched. Since then 4 million Tripp Trapps have been sold worldwide. More recently Stokke has added a new cot and changing table to their children's collection.

The family-owned company has now passed to its third generation. Although many things change over time there is still a lot of tradition and passion for the same basic values in the company.
